My First Signing Event!

Well, I had my first signing event last night at the St. Charles County Library. I felt like I'd made it! However, no one bought any books, it was still a great event. I'm pretty sure there was only myself and maybe a couple other romance writers there. There were lots of children's book authors, cookbooks, self-help books, travel books, etc... Here I am all set-up and ready to sign some books!10603651_10203172425213860_6995850508688627389_n

While I may not have sold any books, I met lots of other local authors, although not in the same genre, they all shared great stories and advice. I also got to hang out with the awesome library staff that does an amazing job of supporting local writers-a big thank you for all your hard work and dedication! And more importantly, I had an assistant with me and we had a pretty good time hanging out together (this is my 10 year-old niece):
Hopefully this is just the first of many signings and eventually I'll have some fans come visit me. In the meantime, it was still pretty awesome to just be a part of the community.

  1. I'm happy you enjoyed the expereince, Lyssa. I've never had a signing (well, I don't even have a book, yet), but I had a similar experience with my jewellery making. I went to a little market and although I didn't sell anything, meeting people, especially other crafters like me, was just awsome and totally worth the time. Some things are more important than money, don't you think :-)
